Logierait Bridge

Logierait Bridge - Paint Inspection 2020

Logierait Bridge

Logierait Bridge or more correctly Logierait Viaduct (it has five spans) was built in 1865 as a railway bridge, over the River Tay. It closed in 1965, but it was restored and converted for single track vehicular and pedestrian use, connecting the A827 and B898 near Ballinuig, South East Pitlochry.

On the 18th December 2020, Hy Spec's Contracts Manager James Proudfoot attended the location to determine the condition of the existing protective system applied to the structure. Thickness measurements, adhesion tests, salt test and a paint flake extraction were carried out during the inspection.

From this inspection, the Logierait Bridge Company awarded Hy Spec the contract to mechanically prepare and paint Spans 1, 4 and 5 of the bridge.
